The principle and maintenance of turbine butterfly valve transmission mechanism

Turbine butterfly valve refers to a type of valve in which the closing element (disc or disc) is a disc that rotates around the valve shaft to achieve opening and closing. It mainly plays a cutting and throttling role in pipelines. The butterfly valve opening and closing component is a disc-shaped butterfly plate that rotates around its own axis inside the valve body to achieve the purpose of opening and closing or adjusting. The angle from fully open to fully closed of a butterfly valve is usually less than 90 °. The butterfly valve and stem themselves do not have self-locking ability. In order to position the butterfly plate, a worm gear reducer needs to be installed on the valve stem. By using a worm gear reducer, not only can the butterfly plate have self-locking ability and stop at any position, but it can also improve the operational performance of the valve. The characteristics of industrial butterfly valves are high temperature resistance, high pressure range, large nominal diameter, carbon steel valve body, and metal ring instead of rubber ring for valve plate sealing. Large high-temperature butterfly valves are manufactured by welding steel plates and are mainly used for smoke and air ducts and gas pipelines in high-temperature media.

Common faults and troubleshooting methods of turbine butterfly valves:

1. Before installation, confirm whether the product performance and medium flow direction arrow match the operating conditions, and clean the valve chamber. It is not allowed to have impurities or foreign objects on the sealing ring and butterfly plate. Before cleaning, do not close the butterfly plate to avoid damaging the sealing ring.

2. It is recommended to use a special flange for disc valves, namely HGJ54-91 socket welded steel flange, for the installation of disc plates.

3. The preferred position for installation in the pipeline is vertical installation, but it cannot be inverted.

4. During use, it is necessary to adjust the flow rate, which is controlled by a worm gear box.

5. For butterfly valves that have been opened and closed frequently, after about two months, open the worm gear box cover and check if the butter is normal. An appropriate amount of butter should be maintained.

6. Check that all connecting parts are required to be tightened to ensure the honeycomb nature of the packing and the flexibility of the valve stem rotation.

7. Metal sealed butterfly valve products are not suitable for installation at the end of the pipeline. If they must be installed at the end of the pipeline, they need to be equipped with an outlet flange to prevent the sealing ring from accumulating and exceeding its position.
